Class 3 - Year 3 / 4 2017 - 2018

Mrs Torrie

Mrs Spencer

Welcome to Class 3

Year 3 and Year 4

Teachers: Mrs Torrie and Mrs Spencer

Our topic for autumn term 2 is Queen Victoria. We are going to learn about the life of Queen Victoria and what important events took place during her reign. We will compare the lives of rich and poor Victorian children and understand what life was like for them. We will also learn about the Industrial Revolution and the changes that took place around the country during that period in time. We will learn about some of the significant inventions (such as the steam engine) which changed how people worked.

We thoroughly enjoyed our 'WOW starter' school trip to the Black Country Museum this week. We explored authentic Victorian houses, shops and various modes of transport. We had a taste of what it was like for children in the Victorian time period when we had a lesson with a very strict teacher (who had a cane to punish the naughty children!). We also braved the mining tunnels and learned about the Victorian miners in Birmingham.

PE will be with Mr Gibbons on a Tuesday and with Mrs Spencer on a Wednesday. Please make sure you have your PE kits and don't forget your water bottle.
