Mr Gibbons

Class 4

Welcome back to a new academic year.  We hope you have had a wonderful summer and that you have all returned refreshed and ready to learn!

Mr Gibbons will take the class on a Monday and Tuesday, Mr Torrie will teach English and Maths on Wednesday mornings, with Mrs Smart teaching Art in the afternoons. Mr Torrie will then teach on a Thursday and Friday, as per usual.

We've got some really exciting lessons lined up for this term and can't wait to get stuck in!

Our topic this half term is 'Tudor Exploration'.  In this we will look at trade links with other nations, how the seas were explored, key figures of Elizabethan Britain and look at the culture and lives of the people from this period.

Important Notices:

  • Please encourage your child to read at home regularly and write what they have read in their diaries.  If they are unsure what to read, come and speak to us and we will recommend something!  Reading at home makes an enormous difference to their comprehension and writing work in school.

  • Short arithmetic problems will explored each morning

  • Optional topic investigations will be added soon!

  • We will also add interesting websites linked to our topic where appropriate.
  • Active 30 is continuing at the usual time - please ensure your PE kit is in school each day and is suitable for wet weather too!
