Class 4

Welcome back to the Spring Term.

We hope you had lots of fun enjoying the festivities over the Christmas holiday.

We have an exciting topic to explore this term which is called ‘Being a Global Citizen’.

The children will develop an understanding of the world and the impact humans have on it. They will study people and communities who want to learn about and take action on the world’s biggest challenges (poverty, animal extinction, suffering refugees, climate change, declining bee numbers).

We hope to invite an aid worker into school to talk about their job and the difference they make in the world. The children will undertake research, problem solving, measuring, recording and analysing data in order to understand the scale of some of the challenges.

We hope to raise awareness of the importance of being a global citizen. Although the effects of small actions are not always obvious, by working together, specific and tangible outcome are achieved. Global citizens’ voice's influence world leaders and decision makers, and contribute to shaping our world.

We hope to educate our children so that they feel confident enough to speak up and have their voices heard so they can make a positive difference in the world throughout their lives.

Lets get learning!
