Community Work

We are very fortunate in having tremendous parental support and community interest in all our school activities. There are many occasions during the school year when parents and friends are most welcome to join the school community: class assemblies, concerts, Christmas productions, open evenings, sports and musical activities.

All parents of children at Calveley Primary School are automatically members of FROCS (Friends and Relatives of Calveley School) and are invited to attend any meetings or functions. FROCS organises many social events with the aim of bringing our families and community together. These events include family treasure hunts, children’s bingo, summer balls, safari suppers or our Christmas Lantern’s event, to name but a few.

The support we have enjoyed from FROCS and our local community has provided the school with extra equipment. This has included help towards funding our new computer suite, outdoor play equipment for foundation stage, a music system for the hall, wet playtime games as well as subsidising transport for school visits, paying for theatrical visits and providing children’s Christmas parties. Our outdoor school facilities are open to members of the local community. We also have special links with organisations such as the Wildfowl Trust and Springwatch who regularly visit us and give talks to our pupils.
