Parent Council

Our Parent Council is made up of a group of volunteers who work alongside the Senior Leadership team to evaluate current practices / systems and discuss future ideas for the school. The Council meet at various points throughout the year with the shared vision to continually improve the school.

Class 2

Helen Wynn-Hughes

Hi, my name is Helen Wynn-Hughes and my youngest son Harry is in year 2.

I work for BT and have done for 23 years, but please don't hold that against me if you're experiencing problems with your broadband!

My eldest son Tom is at Uni in Winchester studying Psychology and my middle son George is a professional Cricketer playing for Durham. Sport has obviously figured hugely in my life and I'm now doing it all over again with little Harry.

Calveley Primary Academy is situated in an idyllic setting and the school as a whole very much has a feeling of security and every teacher is very approachable, all working together to give our children the very best start in their education. Watching any of the productions verifies the time and effort the teachers put into our children. The after school clubs offered are great with varied interests to appeal to all.

I am a member of FROCS and help when I can as support is very much appreciated and therefore it was a natural thing to join our parent council. Please feel free to come and speak to me in the playground if there's anything at all that you would like me to raise at the next Parent Council meeting, I'm usually dashing around like most of us, but will always find time if you need a point raising.

Class 3

Debbie Freedman

Hello my name is Debbie Freedman. My daughter Elma has enjoyed being part of Calveley Primary Academy school since 2015. She is currently in Year 3 and is having a wonderful time. The school teachers and staff work ever so hard to make the children feel safe, secure and happy. We are very lucky to have a school in such a beautiful location and to have small classes with teachers that give attention to all. We enjoy the cookery and art clubs' and everything creative and natural. Calveley is a happy place for our children to be nurtured and cared for.

I am usually doing the pick-ups / drop-offs, so if you have anything you would like to suggest to the next Parent Council Meeting, just catch me on the playground/ car-park. I would be more than happy to share progressive ideas to the council.

Anne-Marie Marsh

Caden started Calveley Primary Academy towards the end of Year 1, he really loves this school and has made some great friends.

As a Parent, I was keen to get involved and help the school in any way possible, I am a member of FROCS and I have now decided to join the Parent Council.

I work locally as a Sales Administrator for J S Bailey Cheese Limited, a Company that support some of the fundraising events that FROCS organise for the school.

My spare time is taken up mostly running Caden to football practice, as he hopes one day to be a Goal Keeper for England!  I also enjoy going to the gym and watching my favourite football team Manchester United.

I am at school every morning and afternoon, if there is anything you would like me to raise at any of the Parent Council Meetings then please do not hesitate to let me know.

Hazel Holland

Hello, my name is Hazel and I'm the Mum to George and William who are in Class 3.

It's very important that our children are happy during their school years and encounter a very full and varied learning journey; whilst being encouraged to grow and achieve in a stimulating and encouraging environment.

I'm always about, I can be found daily in the playground, if you have any ideas you would like to share that will help focus, maintain and grow the environment our children are part of plese let me know.
