Two ambassadors for the NSPCC visited our school on Thursday. We met Buddy, the NSPCC mascot and we had an assembly to talk about what the NSPCC can do for us.

We came up with events and situations that could make us feel worried such as; bullying, hearing parents argue, fighting, being left out and cyber bullying, We thought how these things could make us feel - worried, sad, scared, dejected and heavy. We also leant about the different types of abuse and discussed what these different types ment. We said the phrase "Abuse is not ok"

We then discussed who could help us with these worries - teachers, TAs, head teacher, parents, carers, other family members, older siblings and friends. We thought about how sharing our worries could help us and how we would feel once we had shared: free, relieved, safe, happy and light.

Speak Out and Stay Safe was the key message. We learnt that we should speak to our trusted adults and we could also speak to Childline - www.childline.org.uk or 08001111. We learnt tht they are open 24/7 365 days a year and it's free.
