Year 5 - Should palm oil farming be banned?

Lesson: Curriculum

Class: Class 4 - Year 5 / 6 Year: 2018 - 2019

After researching the topic of palm oil in English, Year 5 decided that they needed to do 'their bit' as Global Citizens to educate the pupils and parents of Calveley Primary Academy about the impact of deforestation as a result of palm oil farming.

Year 5 enjoyed using a variety of techniques to paint an orangutan and used their facts to highlight the issues facing the animals and the environment where palm oil farming takes place in locations such as Borneo.

Next, Class 4 will write balanced arguments to discuss reasons for and against palm oil farming.
