I have lived in Calveley for 30 years and both my daughters spent their primary years at Calveley School. The teaching and care they received there gave them a solid foundation and both are now studying at University. During their time at Calveley School I was a working Mum and I had little time to spare but now I have retired from Cheshire Police this is my opportunity to give something back.
Thirty years as a police officer, at various ranks provided me with a wide range of experiences of life and the public services. As well as many years working in operational policing and in investigative roles, I was also a project manager for the police headquarters, investigated public complaints and implemented new ways of managing police information.
I became a Governor at Calveley school at the end of 2012 and perhaps not surprisingly given my background, I took on the role of Safeguarding Governor. For the past two years I was also Vice Chair. When Calveley joined with Acton to form the Real Life Learning Multi Academy Trust in September 2016 I was pleased to continued to focus on the Safeguarding role, as a Director.
I believe that converting to an academy with Acton School is the way to ensure the successful future of both schools. I hope to be able to contribute to their further development and to play a part in making sure every pupil has the best educational experience possible.
